Data Management & Analytics
Data management is the practice of collecting, storing, and using data securely and efficiently (Oracle). Data Analytics is the act of extracting and organizing raw data in order to identify patterns and make inferences. The goal of these are to transform health data into information (Informatica). Data management and analytics are often needed for quality improvement projects as well as reporting to Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) and other regulatory bodies. Federally Qualified Health Centers are required to report annually to HRSA clinical and operational data called the Uniform Data System (UDS).
**On April 24th, the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) published their Primary Health Care Digest, sharing that UDS+ is postponed and HRSA will no longer require or accept submissions for reporting year 2024. At this time, BPHC has not made any decisions on UDS+ for the Calendar Year 2025 data. If there are any questions or concerns about these changes, submit a support ticket to BPHC via the BPHC Contact Form at https://hrsa.my.site.com/support/s/ (Uniform Data System (UDS) > UDS Modernization > Patient-level submission (UDS+)).
- Data Governance Excellence Webinar Series: Building a Strong Foundation
UDS+ is the electronic submission of de-identified patient-level data from health centers to HRSA through automated reporting platforms. The goal of UDS+ is to eventually eliminate the need for health centers to dedicate resources required to manually enter UDS data into the EHBs, while simultaneously allowing health centers to submit more granular, specific data about their patient population. Through UDS+, health centers will submit de-identified patient-level data instead of aggregated data for existing patient-oriented tables.

- Register for a HRSA BPHC Account to access the most recent UDS+ information!
- Join the UDS Test Cooperative (UTC) by going to the BPHC Contact form > Uniform Data System (UDS) > UDS Modernization > Join the UDS Test Cooperative
- Reach out to your Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Population Health Management Tool to see where they are with UDS+.
