CHCANYS is pleased to present a series of webinars designed to strengthen the capacity of community health centers to identify and respond to Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). This initiative has been carefully designed and curated to provide participants with a framework for building sustainable internal protocols, collaborating with community-based organizations, and incorporating practical, evidence-based approaches into day-to-day integrated care delivery—ultimately equipping health centers to better meet the complex health and safety needs of patients who are at risk of, or experiencing, IPV and related violence.
Participants can expect to gain the knowledge and tools needed to improve identification of IPV, engage in meaningful community partnerships, and develop patient-centered workflows. Each session will provide clear, actionable strategies to help health center teams build a coordinated and effective response.
Session One: Foundational Knowledge, Creating Partnerships, and Utilizing Evidence-Based Strategies
This webinar provides health center staff with essential foundational knowledge on IPV, including the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) strategy for addressing IPV risk and understanding its impact on patient health and well-being. In addition to covering best practices for IPV identification and response, this session focuses on building strong, sustainable partnerships with community-based organizations. Participants learn how to establish and formalize linkages with domestic violence advocacy organizations to better support patients in managing IPV risk and exposure. Featuring expert insights from the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NYS CADV), this webinar offers guidance on fostering cross-sector collaborations, enhancing referral pathways, and integrating patient-centered approaches into clinical-care settings.

Session Two: Leveraging DRVS to Improve Intimate Partner Violence Screening and Care Delivery
CHCANYS and Azara Healthcare host a critical and timely session on strengthening the response to Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) within community health centers!
IPV impacts millions of individuals nationwide—nearly 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe physical violence, psychological aggression, or stalking by a partner. Despite its profound impact on long-term physical and behavioral health, IPV remains under-identified in clinical settings.
Health centers are uniquely positioned to serve as safe, trusted access points for IPV screening, intervention, and referral. This session explores how health centers can harness the power of Azara DRVS and leverage data-driven tools to close gaps in IPV screening and follow-up care, align workflows with value-based care principles, and strengthen connections with community-based resources.
Through a practical, data-driven lens, webinar participants are positioned to:
Gain actionable strategies for identifying patients due for IPV screening using DRVS tools.
Learn how to efficiently track positive screens and coordinate timely follow-up.
Understand how to integrate IPV data with clinical, behavioral, and risk factors to deliver truly comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Whether you’re a quality improvement leader, behavioral health provider, or care manager, this session will equip you with the tools and insights to improve population health outcomes and foster safer, healthier communities.
