     Union Community Health Center (UNION), located in Bronx NY, is a large Federally Qualified Health Center serving medically underserved residents of the Bronx for over 100 years. UNION operates six brick and mortar locations and mobile medical and dental units.  Annually, UNION cares for nearly 40,000 unique patients and conducts approximately 180,000 patient care visits.  With an annual operating budget of $42M and 350 employees, UNION is a critical employer in the neighborhoods it serves and is poised for additional growth in 2021 with the planned addition of sites and services.

     UNION is seeking a Vice President of Government & Community Affairs, an existing position within the Executive Team. The successful candidate will oversee, coordinate, and effectuate all government, community, and public relations policies and actions as well as all marketing, advertising, print and social media, and special event issues for UNION. The goal is to advance the clinical, financial, regulatory, and care mission of UNION and strengthen community partnerships and overall brand reputation and effectiveness.  

     The Vice President serves as the corporation’s primary relationship leader with respect to  federal, state, and local elected and appointed officials and government agencies; community boards and stakeholders.  Responsible for public relations marketing and communications, media relations, community outreach; and advocacy. Represents UCHC at government meetings, events, and other community and business functions. Conducts all duties in accordance with HRSA regulatory requirements for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s). Supervises divisional Managers and Coordinators in pursuit of organizational goals.

     Qualifications for consideration include a graduate degree in business, education, public policy, or related field and 10+ years of experience in healthcare & government relations.  A demonstrated ability to build alliances and partnerships with community and government organizations in diverse communities is essential.  Spanish speaking is preferred.  Willingness to travel is required.
