Organization Overview:

The mission of the Community Health Care Association of New York State (CHCANYS) is to champion community-centered primary care in New York State through leadership, advocacy, and support of Community Health Centers. To do this, CHCANYS serves as the voice of community health centers, working to ensure that every New York State community has primary care that encompasses all aspects of each patient’s health and well-being. CHCANYS is a dynamic, team-oriented, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and as New York State’s Primary Care Association (PCA), advocates on behalf of and provides technical assistance to federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) throughout New York State. New York’s nearly 800 FQHCs sites provide comprehensive, community-based primary and preventative care services to 2.2 million New Yorkers annually, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. CHCANYS is nationally recognized for its programs in health policy, performance improvement, health information technology, health system planning, and training and technical assistance (T/TA).

Position Summary:

The Project Manager (PM) to manage multiple projects and have a hands-on management style to oversee a heavy workload. The PM will have the responsibility to implement project plans manage key program components of the Workforce Development (WD) program, and maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders, including external partners and health center leadership/staff. Reporting to the Director of Workforce Development Special Projects, the PM will work closely with the entire WD Team, staff of CHCANYS’ other program areas, and external partners and stakeholders. Knowledge and understanding of the Federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program is preferred. The individual will be expected to develop and deliver training and presentations in coordination with other staff. The individual will need to be self-motivated, able to handle multiple projects and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment. The individual in this role will work with a diverse group of people and must display sound judgment, relate well to the public and staff, have a professional demeanor, prioritize customer satisfaction, and be well organized. Occasional travel may be required.

This position will also support CHCANYS in its unique and essential role, along with its member FQHCs, in addressing health disparities and our DEI efforts and policies across CHCANYS. This is a grant-funded position.

Responsibilities include the following:

-Support and lead WD training and development activities.

-Work with other WD team members to refine and/or develop Health Center training programs to meet identified needs.

-Refine and maintain training tools and resources for health centers.

-Coordinate and/or conduct virtual and in-person training as per grant deliverables.

-Ensure assigned project deliverables and deadlines meet contract requirements.

-Report regularly to project lead and/or funders/stakeholders on the progress/status of assigned project deliverables.

-Prepare final reports on assigned project deliverables.

-Oversee and support tracking and documentation of multiple grants.

-Serve as project lead for special and/or short-term projects and grants at the discretion of the Director.

-Attend and actively participate in conferences, trainings, exercises, and other meetings with program partners and other agencies.

-Conduct other duties, as assigned, to fulfill CHCANYS’ mission.

Qualification Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Business, or Public Administration (or a related field)

· Minimum of three years professional-level project/program coordination experience, preferably in the healthcare sector, including program implementation and evaluation; experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) preferred.

· Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

· Proficient computer skills: MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and Outlook

· Experience working with “live learning” mediums (i.e., Zoom preferred) and Learning Management Systems (LMS)

· Facility using other software, such as Salesforce, Smartsheets, Electronic Health Records, Survey Monkey.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with a high degree of independence, flexibility, initiative, and commitment.

· Demonstrated ability to work with customer/client groups and/or experience in membership organizations

· Ability to multi-task and manage a heavy workload

· Solid research and analysis skills, and the ability to address and solve problems or issues as they arise

· Basic understanding of budgeting and expense monitoring

· Ability to work effectively with diverse people. Demonstrated awareness and value of cultural competence.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $72,000
