Full-Time Chief of Mental Health

Reports to: Deputy Chief Medical Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee clinical care of the Mental Health service
  • Oversee psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, including recruitment, retention, training, and monitoring
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Director, oversee therapists (licensed medical social workers, licensed clinical social workers)
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations of Mental Health to oversee practice administration
  • Lead the service to meet all regulatory requirements and clinical quality standards
  • Oversee the mental health service’s quality assurance and risk management plan including: peer review, quality improvement, clinical quality measures and patient satisfaction
  • Teach and liaison with primary care services to meet primary care mental health needs
  • Represent the mental health service to other Health Center departments
  • Represent the Health Center to external agencies, hospitals, and mental health practitioners
  • Oversee standards of care as well as policies and procedures for the mental health service
  • Plan and develop new programs and grants as appropriate
  • Provide direct patient care to a patient panel
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice psychiatry in New York State
  • Board Certified for General Psychiatry
  • 5 years of clinical and administrative experience
  • Practice experience in an integrated care facility preferred
  • Bilingual in English and another language a plus (Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Korean or other)

Compensation and Benefits:
