It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Dr. Ruben Cowart, a stalwart of the Health Center Movement.
Dr. Cowart was a founding member of the organization we now know as CHCANYS, bringing together upstate and downstate health centers to form the modern statewide association. He was a Board Officer and Director during his long tenure on the board until he retired in November 2014. Dr. Cowart also chaired and served on many of CHCANYS Committees and served as the NY Region II representative on the NACHC Board.
