CHCANYS's Navigators attended the Peaceprints of WNY Community Resource Fair at the Central Downtown Buffalo Library on May 21, from 11am-2pm. The event was held in the main corridor to showcase various tables that provide essential resources to the community. Leah Alfieri and Casey Sigrist attended the event to hand out information and answer questions about access to healthcare through the New York State of Health Marketplace.
Leah and Casey provided materials and handouts for clients and potential partners in the community. There were other tables that provided information on elder care, LawNY, SNAP benefits, adult literacy programs, etc. The event was a good networking opportunity for meeting new and potential collaborating partners. Leah and Casey hope to forge more partnerships in the future with these programs.
Peaceprints of WNY is a local non-profit in the Buffalo area. They provide transitional, supportive and independent housing options to their clients. Peaceprints of WNY leads advocacy efforts, a community food pantry, youth programming in conjunction with Buffalo Public Schools and a local level re-entry program in partnership with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
