Federal Fiscal Year 2023 Omnibus Bill

In late December, the federal government passed an omnibus bill to fund the federal government for the remainder of FFY23. Key provisions included:

  • Requirement for states to start Medicaid eligibility redeterminations April 1, 2023 (regardless of the status of the national public health emergency);
  • Extension of COVID-era Medicare telehealth flexibilities through the end of calendar year 2024;
  • $110M increase in discretionary funds for CHCs; and
  • Enhanced FMAP for states following CMS’ Medicaid redetermination requirements, through December 2023.
