Members of the community are experts when it comes to theirneeds and can provide critical insights into how health centers canleverage this expertise to tailor interventions to improve the health outcomesof all members of the community. Join Vicki Quintana and Anne Smithey from theCenter for Health Care Strategies for an engaging discussion on the importanceof incorporating the community voice for the advancement of health equity. Thissession will highlight the need for health centers to build trust andprioritize sustainable engagement with the communities they serve. 

Objectives:

  • Become familiar with a framework to measure progress on and setgoals related to community engagement. 
  • Identify where your organization falls on the framework. 
  • Using case studies and examples, understand how yourorganization can move forward on the community engagement framework and how youcan begin to develop a plan for concrete next steps. 

This session’s intended audience includes healthequity and health center strategy leaders, quality improvement staff,patient-facing staff including clinicians, social workers, health educators,community health workers and patient navigators.
