Responsibilities:

  • Manages and conducts research and evaluation projects that support the Health Center’s population health goals
  • Provides technical guidance to staff on collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and interpreting results for various research, evaluation and quality improvement projects
  • Maintains internal research infrastructure, including carrying out health center research policies and procedures, managing external research requests, assisting in the research proposal review process, coordinating and tracking IRB-approved research, and updating internal databases
  • Develops and conducts research methods training sessions and workshops with project staff and interns
  • Supervises research activities of summer student internship program
  • Assists in grant proposal development and writing, including conducting background research and conceptualizing evaluation work plans and logic models
  • Assists in health center strategic planning, including developing and implementing needs assessments, and conducting and presenting secondary data analysis on community demographics and health issues
  • Develops and reviews evaluation reports, conference presentations, and manuscripts for various departments and programs as needed
  • Assists Director of Research & Evaluation in various duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • Masters in Public Health or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience with quantitative research methods
  • Experience with qualitative research methods
  • Proficiency with SPSS, R and/or other statistical analysis software
  • Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills
  • Organized and attentive to details

Preferred:

  • Bilingual Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) and English
  • 2-3 years of  experience in research administration and coordination
  • 2-3 years of experience working in health care, public health and/or social services
  • Familiarity with qualitative analysis software such as Atlas.ti or Dedoose
  • Prior experience with managing program evaluations
  • Prior experience developing IRB protocols and working on IRB-approved research projects
  • Prior experience leading training sessions or workshops
