Position: Healthcare IT Training & Support Specialist 

Class: Full Time 

Reports to: Director, IT Projects & Enterprise Applications 

Location: New York City Metro Area 

Project Renewal’s Healthcare IT Training & Support Specialist is the primary trainer and support provider for applications used by Healthcare staff. They lead the development of reference materials and the provision of training and support to end users. The position serves as the first line of support for Healthcare applications, using our ticketing system to respond to user requests and issues. The specialist works very closely with Healthcare staff to understand needs, knowledge gaps, and potential new solutions.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Developing reference materials for and providing individual and group trainings on eClinicalWorks, including: 
  • Both online and in-person trainings at our locations in New York City; 
  • Personal trainings for new staff, tailored to their role; 
  • Group trainings (i.e. psychiatric nurses, front desk staff, primary care providers); 
  • Recorded videos and PDF how-to reference guides on specific topics or features; and 
  • Periodic refresher and “what’s new” trainings. 
  • Providing end-user support for eClinicalWorks and reporting tools for eCW data. 
  • Working closely with our Program Evaluation & Quality Assurance and Healthcare leadership and quality improvement staff to identify data quality problems and design trainings and reference materials to address them. 
  • Testing new versions of eCW in our testing environment to identify and document changes. 
  • Developing reference materials for and providing trainings and support on Doxy.me, CAREWare, Azara DRVS, eLoom, Healthix, radiology, and other Healthcare IT applications. 
  • Assisting with our change management process to ensure that stakeholders are incorporated into decision making and have advance notice of changes that will impact them. 
  • Assisting with periodic reviews and audits (as defined by policy) of system users, permissions, licensing and logs for Healthcare applications and preparing summary reports on findings. 
  • Assisting with the processing of invoices from Healthcare IT application vendors, ensuring that costs are coded to the correct programs, contracts, grants, and other funding sources. 
  • Coordinating with vendors for and remaining current on product developments for Healthcare IT applications. 

Requirements include: 

  • At least 3 years of experience with eClinicalWorks, including knowledge of clinical and front desk workflows and features. 
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH requirements. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, team, time management, problem-solving and independent work skills. 
  • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center and reporting for Uniform Data System (UDS) is preferred.
