The mission of the Community Health Care Association of New York State (CHCANYS) is to champion community-centered primary care in New York State through leadership, advocacy, and support of Community Health Centers. To do this, CHCANYS serves as the voice of community health centers, working to ensure that every New York State community has primary care that encompasses all aspects of each patient’s health and well-being. CHCANYS is a dynamic, team-oriented, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and as New York State’s Primary Care Association (PCA), advocates on behalf of and provides technical assistance to community health centers (CHCs, health centers) throughout New York State. New York’s nearly 800 CHCs sites provide comprehensive, community-based primary and preventative care services to 2.2 million New Yorkers annually, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. CHCANYS is nationally recognized for its programs in health policy, performance improvement, health information technology, health system planning, and training and technical assistance (T/TA).


Reporting to the Assistant Director of Health Center Support, the Health Center Support Coordinator will provide administrative support to HCS Department. In collaboration with the HCS team and other key department staff, the HCS Coordinator will assist with the development and implementation of Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) programs and services that align with current grants and initiatives and address CHCs needs.  Salary range: $60,000 - $62,500.


Provide programmatic and administrative coordination and support for the day-to-day functions of the HCS in delivering T/TA programs and services, including: 

  • Supporting the HCS department in providing blurbs for CHCANYS Newsletter. 
  • Providing back-up to the CHCANYS letters of support process
  • Providing support for developing, disseminating, and monitoring HCS targeted surveys
  • Assisting with the implementation of T/TA offerings (face to face trainings/ virtual meetings/ webinars)
  • Assisting and coordinating promotional materials for T/TA offering i.e., blasts, other email communications, distribution materials, etc.
  • Providing support for T/TA “question” desk/email

Support the HCS team to implement major events/functions, including:

  • Assisting in implementing registration systems and tracking systems for events (CHCANYS Learning Management System (LMS), CVENT, CrowdCompass and Smartsheet, creating events, constructing templates, creating and sending email blasts and running reports.)
  • Supporting scheduling efforts and coordination of HCS T/TTA offerings
  • Compiling and assisting with conference/T/TA abstracts and workshop/T/TA coordination
  • Supporting coordination of registration and planning efforts for events with HCS team

Support key administrative components for HCS Senior Leadership

  • Completing time sheets and expense reports
  • Scheduling meetings/conference calls
  • Performing other duties as assigned to fulfill CHCANYS’ mission

Qualification Requirements:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree and at least two years of project coordination/management experience in a health-related field
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a heavy workload; organize and coordinate various activities; work as a team member; and work effectively with diverse populations
  • High degree of independence, flexibility, initiative, and commitment
  • Attention to details and a focus on quality work
  • Demonstrated awareness of and value of cultural competence
  • Knowledge of primary health care delivery systems desirable
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Proficient computer skills:  MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally in the Greater New York City region and throughout the state (10%).

The HCS Coordinator must be self-motivated with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, must display sound judgment, relate well to the public and staff, have a professional demeanor, prioritize customer satisfaction and be well-organized.
