The Grants Coordinator is responsible for the research, development, writing and submission of proposals to increase grant revenues for Callen-Lorde Community Health Center from Local, State and Federal government sources. The Coordinator will further support grant tracking, management and reporting, including the development of tools and processes to improve Callen-Lorde’s financial and programmatic performance within grants.  The Coordinator will also assist the organization in preparing for operational site visits and other key areas of grants compliance.  The Coordinator will be adept at analyzing and employing organizational data to report on deliverables and monitor progress towards grant-related goals and milestones.  The Coordinator works with their supervisor, grants management team and program staff to ensure all potential grant applications and reports are researched and submitted in a timely manner.  The Coordinator will report to the Director of Grants Administration and will work alongside a core grants management team that includes the Director of Special Projects and Grants Accountants.  The Coordinator will also be tasked to work with staff across all levels of the organization, including the Community Health Analytics data team, program managers and staff of grant-funded programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 plus years of experience as a grant writer or grant manager, with a proven record of success in acquiring local, state and Federal grants.
  • Experience writing grants for health related funding from both public and private sources strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to write under pressure.
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to manage several writing projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work with staff at all levels, interact with funders, and represent the organization tactfully and diplomatically.
  • Excellent research skills, preferably with experience in researching government, and corporate funders using online databases and the Internet.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
