The Clinical Director of Elder Care (Clinical Director) provides medical leadership and vision to Elder Care services provided at Callen-Lorde. Elder Care services are considered an integral part of healthcare for all primary care patients in all service areas of Callen-Lorde. The Elder Care program should not be considered separate from, but rather integrated, into primary care services. The Clinical Director is responsible for the clinical and organizational aspects of the program. They will also provide primary care and be responsible for diagnoses and treatment of Callen-Lorde patients, for providing such care in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner, and for making appropriate internal and external referrals. The employee will maintain a high degree of professional competence, and the highest possible ethical standards and will play a leadership role in the caregiving team.

Qualifications

  • New York State Certification/Licensure according to degree (MD, NP, DO or PA)
  • Current New York State Registration
  • DEA Controlled Substances Registration Certificate
  • CPR Certification
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Infectious Disease for MDs/DOs
  • 5+ years of clinical experience in an outpatient medical setting
  • Experience in providing Elder Care and primary care services to LGBT- identified patients.
  • Supervisory and high-level administrative experience preferred
  • Experience with program administration and quality assurance processes preferred.
  • Additional certifications in Geriatrics are preferred.

  • Interest and skills needed to teach a multidisciplinary team the core concepts, principles, and protocols for effective, quality Elder Care.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
