Full-Time Chief of Dentistry, Queens

Responsibilities:
- Oversees planning, hiring, operations and growth of the new Dental Service, Queens
- Oversees clinical operations and clinical care of the Dental Service, Queens
- Oversees dental personnel (e.g., dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants) including supervision, recruitment, retention, training, and mentoring
- Oversees the Quality Assurance, Clinical Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Risk Management, Utilization Management, Peer Review, and Patient Satisfaction activities of the service
- Oversees the authoring and implementation of dental policies and procedures, and clinical protocols in collaboration with the Chief of Dentistry, Manhattan
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations
- Monitors clinical budget and Dental Service utilization
- Represents the Dental Service, Queens in interdisciplinary activities with other Health Center departments and external health organizations
- Plans and develops programs for Dental Service, Queens as guided by the Health Center’s mission and strategic plan
- Develops linkages and relationships with specialty referral providers and dental education and training programs
- Provides dental care to a panel of patients
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from an accredited dental school
- Licensed to practice in New York State
- Board certified
- Five years or greater clinical and administrative experience
