Telehealth Regulations

The Medicaid emergency regulations for telehealth have been extended. These regulations allow community health centers to continue to bill for telehealth and telephonic care as they have been throughout the pandemic. The Department of Financial Services, which oversees commercial plans, also released regulations in December requiring commercial health insurers to cover telephonic care for medically necessary visits, noting the importance of telephonic care in delivering behavioral health services.
