Public Health Emergency: Orthopoxvirus/Monkeypox

On August 4, 2022, the Biden Administration declared Orthopoxvirus/Monkeypox a public health emergency, as the U.S. outbreak has grown into the largest in the world, to mobilize more resources to fight the outbreak. In New York State, Governor Hochul has also declared a state disaster emergency in response to the Orthopoxvirus/Monkeypox of emergency through August 28th which will allow the state to respond to the outbreak and to allow healthcare providers to take steps to get people vaccinated.
