Health centers are encouraged to check the DOH NYS Healthcare Worker Bonus Homepage as DOH is regularly updating it with clarifying slides and FAQs. Organizations with continued questions should submit them to NYSWorkersBonus@health.ny.gov. In addition, CHCANYS sent a letter to the Governor’s Office & Medicaid Director requesting clarity on titles eligible for the healthcare worker bonuses and requesting an expanded allowance for certain titles that are not currently eligible for the bonuses. The Department and State have not yet responded to CHCANYS letter. However, DOH has since clarified that providers will be able to submit claims for Vesting Period 1 (which ended September 2) during Vesting Period 2. The HWB Portal will be closed for submissions from September 3, 2022 – September 30, 2022, but Providers may submit for Vesting Period 1 during the Vesting Period 2 Submission period which begins on October 1, 2022, and ends October 31, 2022. DOH encourages employers to make every attempt to submit claims for Vesting Period 1 as soon as the employee is eligible.
