New J&J 340B Contract Pharmacy and Claims Data Requirements

For the past six years, Johnson & Johnson had not imposed the contract pharmacy restrictions and claims-data requirements that many other manufacturers applied to health centers and other grantees. That is now changing, and New York health centers are not exempt.

  • Single Contract Pharmacy: Beginning November 3, health centers will be limited to one designated contract pharmacy location for J&J drugs, including health centers with an in-house pharmacy. Health centers must designate their contract pharmacy through 340B ESP by October 20. Link to J&J contract pharmacy notice.
  • Claims-Level Data: Beginning September 15, health centers must submit claims-level data through 340B ESP for J&J drugs dispensed through contract and in-house pharmacies, as well as clinic-administered drugs. Link to J&J claims data notice.

Health centers should review both notices and make sure their pharmacy and 340B teams are aware of the new requirements and deadlines.
