Governor Cuomo Resigns; Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul to become New York’s first Woman Governor

On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, Governor Cuomo announced his resignation amid at least 11 sexual harassment allegations by current and former staff members. The allegations were substantiated by the Attorney General’s findings that were revealed in the investigation; the report on the investigation and findings can be found here.  

Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul, of Buffalo, NY, will start her term as the 57th Governor of NYS upon Governor Cuomo’s resignation, which will take effect on August 24, 2021. CHCANYS is working to obtain additional information about Governor Hochul’s health care agenda and will share updates with the membership.
