In June 2013, recognizing the growing integration of the activities of its Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI) and Health IT programs, CHCANYS combined them under the umbrella of the Quality and Technology Initiatives (QTI) division, with CHCANYS’ Vice President of Health IT assuming leadership of the division in the newly-created position of Senior Vice President, Quality and Technology Initiatives. Unified leadership of the programs strengthens their offerings and outcomes and is in line with the health care industry’s movement to leverage data to improve care processes and outcomes and prepare providers for alternative delivery and payment systems.
The division supports FQHCs throughout New York State in the successful delivery of high quality cost-effective primary care. By providing technical assistance, training and tools the division disseminates best practices to improve health care quality; promote health IT adoption and use; obtain Meaningful Use Incentive Payments; achieve Patient Centered Medical Home recognition; and expand health center capacity to meet the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing health care environment.
