National Health Center Week: August 12-18, 2018 Each August, we recognize National Health Center Week (NHCW) in an effort to enhance the visibility of community, migrant, homeless, and public housing health centers and build support for the Health Center Program. Health centers across the country open their doors to state and federal elected officials and the public in order to showcase the numerous services they provide... and to celebrate! We hope that you will consider hosting an event during NHCW this summer and invite your elected officials, business partners, patients, and community members to participate. The Senate has cancelled most of its August Recess, but don’t worry! There will be plenty of opportunities to invite your Senators for a visit, especially as National Health Center Week has grown beyond the official seven-day span into more of a month-long celebration. Senators will be home during the week of August 6th and on weekends during the rest of the month. Members of Congress will likely be back in their districts closer to election time as well. So far, the House has not announced any changes to its August Recess schedule, which is set to begin on July 30. CHCANYS has developed a specialwebpagefeaturing a number of tools and resources to assist you in your planning - please check back often, as we will be updating it frequently. And don't forget to let us know about your events by filling out anonline event form- we look forward to celebrating with you!
