CHCANYS letter to Senators Schumer and Gillibrandsent 11-20-17 Asks our Senators to work with their colleagues to address the funding cliff prior to December in order to avoid the possibility of the health center funding reauthorization issue becoming ensnaring in larger, more contentious political debates.
CHCANYS letter to Governor Cuomosent 06-16-17 Articulates our concerns re: proposed changes to Medicaid, the potential elimination of the Essential Plan, and the looming federal funding cliff and asks the Governor to weigh in with Congress on behalf of New York's FQHCs.
Take Action! Ask Your Senators to Issue a Statement in Support of Quick Cliff Fix We are now well past the September 30th expiration of the Health Centers Fund, and FQHCs nationwide have officially gone “over the cliff” due to Congress’ inability to agree on a fix in a timely manner. We need your help to hold our federal legislators accountable as negotiations over the future of this critical funding continue on Capitol Hill. Clickhereto send your Senators a message, asking them to publicly show their support for a quick cliff fix by posting on social media, issuing a public statement or press release, and/or publishing a Letter to the Editor/Opinion Editorial. While enough of a “cushion” remains in the Fund to sustain current health center operations in the very short term, it will become increasingly more challenging for FQHCs to plan for the future with each day that our federal legislators fail to reach an agreement on a funding extension for the Health Centers Program. It is currently up to the Senate to decide how to move the issue forward. Please help us to keep the pressure on and complete this quick and easy action step today!
