Outreach & Enrollment Health Insurance Literacy Training

CHCANYS to Host Two-Day Outreach & Enrollment Health Insurance Literacy Training Session

NYC CHCANYS is excited to host this two-day, in-person “train the trainer” session entitled, “I Finally Have Health Insurance, Now What?”: Teaching Consumers How to Use Their Health Insurance, with funding support from the Altman Foundation. Open to all experienced FQHC Outreach & Enrollment staff statewide, the training will provide tools and resources that Assistors can use to train their colleagues on how to educate consumers about complex health insurance terms, concepts and processes.

The session will include up-to-date information from the Community Service Society of New York State on tax considerations for the upcoming season, a presentation by the NY State of Health, and a presentation by Enroll America around national health insurance literacy efforts.

These two, full-day sessions are highly recommended for experienced health center Certified Application Counselors and Navigators who worked to educate and enroll patients during the initial enrollment period.

  • The cost is $80 per person
  • Space is limited to 2 individuals per health center
  • Lunch will be provided
