Layerframe. Operations Director for small business focusing on graphic design and web development services. I managed a 10-person office and acted as a strategic advisor on operations, finance, and legal activities. During my tenure, I eliminated $40,000 in credit card debt. I was responsible for writing proposals for clients and negotiating contracts; responded to all state and federal regulatory affairs, including audits; acted as primary contact for legal counsel and accounting; implemented two health insurance plans and the payroll system; established daily, monthly, quarterly and annual budgets; and implemented bookkeeping practices.
The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center, Inc. I was the Director of Grants and Regulatory Affairs at the health center, and was promoted twice during my tenure. I managed two departments at the health center: Grants and Care Management. Over two years, I increased grant revenue by 86% ($1.30 to $2.43 million); more than doubled total annual grant awards (6 to 13); submitted 14 federal and state regulatory applications for new sites and services; created and led a new Care Management department, estimating $50,000/month in additional revenue; advised on market analysis and regulatory affairs for the development of three new sites of service. Additionally, I developed programs from start-to-finish, beginning with grant identification and procurement and continuing with implementation planning for Affordable Care Act Policy and sustainability analyses including patient revenue and payor mix projections for new sites and services. I have extensive experience with reporting in addition to grant writing, and have submitted periodic reports for federal, state, and private grantmaking agencies and associations. Additionally, I participated in 15-member annual strategic planning sessions with senior management.
The Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. As the Foundation Specialist, I identified more than 30 new foundations to pursue for funding scientific environmental research, and grew the database of potential donors by 10%.
Freelance Writing/Editing. Writing experience included grant writing for individual artists; managing an online publication with a readership of 5,000; articles for academic journals and magazines; and content articles for eHow, Livestrong, and USA Today. I completed training at The Foundation Center in New York City, and presented at two conferences (Dublin and New York) on research related to my Masters degree.
