Direct the operation of health center that provides outpatient medical services to 2,200 unique individuals and provides more than 11,000 clinic visits annually. Lead a clinical team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinical social workers as well as the front desk staff, Medicaid enroller, medical biller, and receivables specialist. Collaborate with the executive leadership team in developing long- and short-range strategic plans for the facility with the goal of maximizing reimbursement and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and funding sources while providing continual improvements in the quality of services.
Recruited to serve as the health center’s first dedicated administrator and charged with leading an initiative to transform privately funded facility into a federally qualified health center. Led clinic to achieve financially self-sustaining operations.
Designed and implemented a comprehensive medical billing and collections program, which generates $2.5 million in reimbursement annually. Secured affiliations with 11 Medicaid managed care organizations that generated more than $3 million in revenue over the past three years. Orchestrated the credentialing of all of the center’s medical providers.
Led facility to achieve consistently outstanding results on all site visits and audits. Developed action plans and timelines that eliminated more than 45 NYS DOH citations. Directed the financial component of a highly successful Health Resources and Services Administrative (HRSA) site visit and a Federal Torts Claims Act (FTCA) site visit, which resulted in FTCA’s issuance of malpractice coverage for 2017 to 2018.
Implemented a federally compliant electronic health records system. Coordinated and conducted training programs to educate staff on medical billing and coding procedures. Partnered with E-Clinical Works consultants to implement Electronic Business Optimizer technology.
