Manager, Medical Billing
Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is looking for a dedicated, organized and detail oriented individual to join our team as the Manager of our Patient Accounts Department (MPA). The Manager will work directly with the Director of Patient Accounts to oversee the operation and supervise a growing team in the Patient Accounts department. In this role, responsibilities will include overseeing the billing, reconciliation, and collections for all patient visits at Callen-Lorde. The Manager will work collaboratively with the Director of Patient Accounts to develop, implement and monitor operational practices in the department. The Manager will also hire, train, coach and monitor employee performance while maintaining compliance with federal, state and local privacy laws. This person will also facilitate documentation, performance improvement, and quality improvement initiatives.
This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm) located at our offsite administrative office in Chelsea. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field required
Minimum of 3+ years’ experience supervising 5 or more billing staff, preferably in an institutional health care setting in addition to several years in a direct billing position.
Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, ACA plans and private insurances.
Experience working in a FQHC, Article 28 health care clinic or similar clinical setting strongly preferred.
Strong computer competency including Microsoft Office Suite, (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience in working within a multidisciplinary team.
