Line Cooks take on the responsibility of all prep duties plus have the added skill of operating a station on the ala carte line in pantry or grill. Line Cooks may be offered the opportunity to help create menu presentations, however, strict adherence to pre-set guidelines, recipes and use records must be absolute. Line Cooks should carry Level 1 Food Service Professional certification which can be taught after promotion or hire. Successful Line Cooks may be promoted to Lead Cook and beyond. Provide superior customer service by modeling the Brand Promise and Core Values.
Assist in the preparation of high quality food for residents and guests using proper techniques in accordance with operational standards.
Maintain the cleanliness, safety, efficiency, and organization of the kitchen areas by adhering to the guidelines and policies of the New York State Health Department and The Villages.
Promote teamwork among staff to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and resident satisfaction.
Perform administrative functions to support the day-to-day meal service operation.
Perform catering responsibilities.
High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
Three years experience in a food service kitchen.
