Housing Works seeks a Technical Assistance Specialist to conduct ongoing training and technical assistance (TA) to a network of community-based organizations (CBOs) adopting The Undetectables, Housing Works’ viral load suppression (VLS) initiative for difficult-to-serve populations living with HIV/AIDS. Developed and piloted by Housing Works in March 2014, The Undetectables offers a “tool box” of clinical and case management supports to help clients achieve and maintain durable viral suppression. With the support of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and other partners, Housing Works is preparing to educate and assist seven CBOs in adopting and scaling up this model.
The Technical Assistance Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and conducting TA and small-group trainings for CBOs, utilizing existing resources and training materials and collaborating with relevant staff experts. Training topics include 1) integrating the model’s framework into the organizational culture; 2) HIVcare management (program enrollment, case conferencing, adherence care planning, adherence motivational interviewing, adherence cognitive behavioral therapy support groups, provision of monetary incentives for viral suppression); and 3) developing and customizing social marketing campaigns that promote the importance of achieving viral suppression. The Specialist will also promote a culture of viral suppression internally at Housing Works as a pillar in the broader framework of ending the AIDS epidemic in New York State by 2020. Finally, this position will participate in relevant external meetings and activities to advance the intervention’s replication in other networks, including as part of Housing Works’ participation in the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program.
This position will report to the Director of Project Management and work closely with a cross-cutting team of internal clinical, case management, quality assurance, and marketing staff. In addition to expertise in conducting training/TA in a public health setting, a successful candidate will have strong writing and project management skills for executing program logistics, meeting planning, and follow-up. This position requires a positive attitude, an inclination toward teamwork and collaboration, and the ability to represent the organization with integrity.
Please submit a resume, cover letter, and brief writing sample for consideration.
