Morris Heights Health Center (MHHC) is seeking a dynamic individual with superior interpersonal skills to manage the daily activities of a designated clinical area. The Practice Manager must be very hands-on and assume responsibility for all aspects of the practice. This key individual should have a strong healthcare management background that involves financial management (productivity, efficiency and projections) and supervising/coaching line staff. The Practice Manager will collaborate with other site/clinical leaders and executive staff, keeping an open dialog with a focus on operational excellence and improved quality patient care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees day-to-day operations activities in a fast paced, outpatient clinic; identifies and resolves any operational challenges
Develops guidelines for prioritizing daily work activities in order to maintain an efficient and responsive patient flow system; evaluates effectiveness and modifies activities as necessary
Supports and upholds established policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies
Oversees adherence to policies and procedures in areas such as scheduling, registration, patient billing and collections; recommends new and/or revised policies and procedures to Senior Management
Manages staff, including interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, coaching, etc.
Coordinates, directs, and participates in the on-boarding of all new hires and the ongoing training of all line staff; ensures that office is staffed appropriately
Responds in a timely manner to resolve patient complaints and /or employee conflict to promote optimal patient satisfaction
Monitor inventory and ordering of office supplies, medical supplies, and equipment; follow up with Facilities/Purchasing when equipment is not functioning properly or needs to be replaced
Assists in developing and implementing short- and long-term work plans and objectives for line staff functions
Participates in professional development efforts to stay abreast of current health care practices and trends
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e., Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, etc.);
Minimum (3) years’ work experience in healthcare management; planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising in outpatient services
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, think strategically and utilize superior judgment in making decisions to achieve organizational objectives
Must be knowledgeable of patient registration practices and of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines
Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Office with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Outstanding interpersonal skills and collaborative management style
Bi-lingual, English / Spanish is highly preferred
