SVP, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

POSITION SUMMARY:

Morris Heights Health Center (MHHC) is seeking a dynamic results-focused SVP Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to direct and provide strategic financial oversight and counsel on financial activities of an organization that is responding to the changed landscape in the provision of healthcare services in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC).

  • The CFO works closely with the Executive Team and the Finance Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and must be knowledgeable and capable of articulating the business cycles monthly with oversight of organizational budgets.
  • The CFO must understand the healthcare reimbursement business and have in-depth knowledge of financial leadership in a multi-service not-for-profit organization, with multiple business units and revenue streams, including knowledge of multiple government funding sources, including Medicaid reimbursement and managed care protocols.      
  • The CFO will provide leadership on strategic and operational goals linked to financial results and understand the functions at all levels in the Finance department with the ability to delegate, supervise and monitor results.
  • This position requires strong technology and systems software knowledge for implementation of efficiencies in financial reporting, setting business financial goals, analysis and utilization of information to further the business strategies of the organization.      
  • The CFO must be able to effectively represent the organization externally and strategically align the organization with those who can affect policy that impact the ongoing business of FQHCs.      
  • The CFO positively supports MHHC’s core values, vision and mission to ensure that the organization’s strategic goals and objectives are met. The CFO reports to the President, CEO, is a member of the Executive Team of MHHC and the Finance & Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a strong experienced CFO with 10 years of progressive management and strategic financial experience along with oversight experience for subordinate managers who supervise line staff in billing, purchasing, accounting, payroll, patient registration.

  • Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this unit.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and finance and accounting regulations.      
  • Partners with department heads to coordinate reconciliation of department P&L budgets and re-forecasts.
  • Works with Human Resources to monitor FTEs and headcount budgets.
  • Knowledge of FQHCs’ regulatory requirements, health care delivery standards, policies and procedures 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

- CPA License highly preferred
