Morris Heights Health Center (MHHC) is seeking a Revenue Cycle Director to oversee the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of the organization's revenue cycle activities. The incumbent will review, design and implement processes surrounding pricing, billing, third party payer relationships, collections and other financial analyses to ensure that clinical revenue cycle is effective and properly utilized. Essential job functions will include:
Evaluating the accounts receivable reports to analyze declines in revenues and payment trends
Developing and implementing projects including, but not limited to patient volume capture, billing process improvement and regulatory compliance to achieve health center goals
Quality assurance routines to ensure that staff members are performing job duties as expected; will access staffing patterns and performance issues recommending changes as needed and works with employees to develop departmental and individual goals
Tracking payment of the reimbursement methodologies to ensure they are in compliance with collections, such as Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial Insurance, and HMOs
Staying current with legal and regulatory changes in coding & billing and analyze, quantify and communicate reimbursement trends on a state and national level
Assisting in the preparation of various mandatory reports for both Federal and State agencies
Maintaining information on managed care contracts, keeping current on requirements and changes and ensures reimbursement is followed per agreement with each individual plan
Educating staff including providers and clinical staff on payer specific policies and general coding guidelines
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration / management or a related healthcare field along with 7 to 10 years of progressive management and medical reimbursement experience.
Thorough working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding protocols and procedures along with advanced skills in Microsoft Office; Practice Management software experience is a PLUS
Well-versed with all federal, state and HIPPA privacy regulations
Knowledge of medical necessity rules and procedures impacting claim submission, denials and insurance reimbursement
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise directives
Ability to manage, work and deliver results on multiple projects at the same time
Knowledge of FQHCs’ regulatory requirements, health care delivery standards, policies and procedures is a plus
