The requirement that CHCs include costs for services provided by non-CHC providers in the GFEs they give to uninsured and self-pay patients beginning January 1, 2023 will not be enforced. According to CMS’ FAQs About Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 Implementation – Good Faith Estimates (GFEs) For Uninsured (Or Self-Pay) Individuals – Part 3, “HHS is extending enforcement discretion, pending future rulemaking, for situations where GFEs for uninsured (or self-pay) individuals do not include expected charges from coproviders or co-facilities.”
